Are Waerland

Are Waerland was born in 1876 in Ekenäs, Finland. His original name was Paul Henrik Fager and he was a Finnish-Swedish author and lecturer. He became famous for the Waerland diet that he propagated.

As a child he suffered from various diseases. This motivated him to study medicine in London. He was able to successfully treat his symptoms, which he attributed mainly to his diet.

Are Waerland wrote 40 books, mainly on his findings regarding healthy eating, some of which are available here.

Are Waerland died in 1955 in Alassio, Italy.
